Are you quick to open your mouth and speak before actually thinking about what you’re saying? Do you allow your emotions to get the best of you and you say the first thing that comes out of your mouth. That quick reaction can easily be our own demise in the end. As believers we have to realize that the power of life and death is in are tongues.
According to Proverbs 18:21 it says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
Your words can either bring life to a situation or death. Your words can create an action for either good or bad. But, you will reap the consequences of whatever you have spoke over your life. Your word have power and you need to use them wisely.
Proverbs 15:4 says
“Gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.”
Your words have the ability to cause change in someone life. Your words can encourage and uplift someone to achieve greatness in their life.
We need to be mindful and aware about the things we saying and how we saying it. We only need to speak words that transform our life and the lives of others.
I pray the we set a guard over our mouths and keep watch over the door of our lips. (Psalm 141:3)
Faith Action Steps:
Take some time and reflect over the past two weeks. Think about the words you spoke over yourself and others. Where the words you spoke where helpful, uplifting, encouraging and inspiring? or did you speak fear, doubts, unbelief, words that crush someone spirit?
